Sodexo Defence has been providing support services to the Ministry of Defence (MOD) for over 20 years and operates across various locations in the UK, Cyprus, The Falkland Islands and Ascension Islands.

Supporting all three of the Armed Forces - the Army, Royal Navy (RN) and Royal Air Force (RAF) - Sodexo Defence provides a range of services from catering, cleaning, transport, grounds maintenance, water purification and fire services as a primary contractor in Multi Activity Contracts (MACs) to offering complete integrated facilities management through PFI schemes such as Colchester.

Sodexo Defence also provides an integrated catering, retail and leisure offer. The HUB has been tailored to meet the needs of Servicemen and Service women and the Wider Defence Community at Army and Tri-service sites, whereas SHORE brings a high street experience to Royal Navy and Royal Marine sites. Both of these branded facilities bring eating, drinking, shopping and leisure together with a range of concepts specifically tailored to each military location, from full dining to 'grab and go' and vending.

Every year, we serve more than two million cups of coffee to Servicemen and Service women, as well as five million meals - 30,000 of which are prepared at our central processing unit at Colchester Garrison every week.

Supporting the Wider Defence Community
Sodexo is committed to the well-being of the Wider Defence Community and their families and supports a wide variety of Service welfare and families' organisations including the Army, RAF and RN Benevolent Funds, the Royal British Legion, the RAF and RN Associations, the Royal Marines and Royal Navy Children's Fund and the three Service Families Federations. In addition, we support one-off events such as the Falklands 25th anniversary commemorations and the uk4u Christmas boxes that are sent to all Service personnel deployed on operations over Christmas.

Sodexo strongly supports the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) - the national charity for helping and supporting those who serve in the Armed Forces, those who used to serve and the families of both - as a “Corporate Friend” to SSAFA, both at national level and also more locally in the areas where it operates.
