Sodexho wins £2.6m United Biscuits contract

Sodexho's contract is for three years and has an annual turnover of over £2.6 million. Sodexho will employ a total of 112 staff across the 12 sites which include UB's head office in Hayes, Middlesex and 11 manufacturing sites. Sodexho has now completed the phased handover which began in October.

At the head office alone, Sodexho will provide catering and hospitality for the 500 UB employees based there and across the remaining 11 sites there are a total of 7,000 UB employees.

Andy Vaughan, Sodexho's managing director for B&I North commented; “This is a fantastic win for us, we have in the past provided catering at UB's Aintree and Wigston sites before the catering was reformed into a group contract rather than site by site basis. We have been able to demonstrate our ability to provide a value for money solution without compromising on quality across all of UB's sites.”

The contract includes manufacturing sites for the following UB brands McVitie's, KP and Jacob's. Malcolm Hastie, regional facilities manager at UB commented after mobilisation of Sodexho's contract; “We are delighted with how well the mobilisation plan has been implemented. Sodexho has more than met our expectations in the first month of operation.”
